About Me

My name is Myesha Suckra, and I am a third year Telecommunications Major with a minor in Educational Studies. I was born in the beautiful island of Jamaica. I am a first generation college student, who attends the University of Florida. Go Gators! I am the oldest of six children, and it is my purpose to set an example for my siblings. I enjoy interacting with others and giving a listening ear. I enjoy interviewing people and understanding their views on certain topics pertaining to their lives. I believe that it is important to capture a person’s experience because it may serve as a tool to help others whether it is family matters, school or relationships.

I want you, as a reader to be able, to understand what college students go through on a daily basis beyond the classroom. What I mean by this is that I want you to understand how students cope with the stress of problems in the home, roommate issues, peer pressure and dating just to name a few. Being at a large University, I meet many students daily and it is just unique the different experiences that they have. The saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” proves to be true because there have been multiple instances where I have met an individual and never thought they would have been in a certain situation. Therefore, get to know a person before you judge them.  I want this blog to serve as a tool to make you understand what strategies student use to tackle these problems through personal accounts, interviews and videos.   Your feedback will be highly appreciated through comments, any ideas you might have or links to other articles pertaining to college student lives.
